Your One Stop Closet Renovation Contractor

If you're tired of cramped, cluttered closets with sagging wire shelves and wasted vertical space, Meltini Kitchen and Bath Designs can help. We've been transforming builder-grade closets into functional, organized spaces throughout Fort Lauderdale and Broward County for over two decades. Whether your master bedroom closet can't hold your wardrobe, your reach-in is a jumbled mess of shoes and hangers, or your kids' closets need systems that grow with them, we design and build storage tailored to how you actually live.

Good closet remodeling starts with what you own, not with a standard kit. How much long hanging space do you need for dresses and coats? How many pairs of shoes? Do you fold or hang? Do two people share the space? Where do the suitcases, the off-season clothes and the handbags go? Once we know, we plan the shelving, drawers and hanging zones so every item sits where you'll reach for it.

Every project starts with professional closet design and detailed 3D renderings. Our in-house designers visit your home, take precise measurements, and create a visual layout showing exactly where your shelving, drawers, hanging rods, shoe racks, pull-out baskets, and accessories will go. You'll see the finished closet on screen before we cut a single board, and you can make adjustments until every inch works for your wardrobe, your lifestyle, and your budget. Walk-in closets can include center islands with jewelry drawers, built-in hampers, full-length mirrors, and LED lighting. Reach-in closets make the most of every square foot with double-hang rods, adjustable shelving, and vertical cubbies.

As a licensed contractor, we handle the complete job: removing old systems, repairing drywall if needed, and installing your new closet with precision craftsmanship. We use quality materials (solid wood, durable melamine, premium laminate) and soft-close drawer slides that won't bang or wear out. No flimsy big-box kits that sag after a year. No guessing whether it will fit. Just custom closets built to your exact measurements by craftsmen who take pride in their work.

Store-bought systems come in fixed widths and depths, and your closet doesn't. That's why kits leave gaps at the ends and shelves that stop short. A custom closet is cut to your measurements, fitted to your walls, and installed level even when the walls and floor aren't.

Our Closet Remodeling Services in Fort Lauderdale

Every closet presents different challenges: limited square footage, awkward layouts, specific storage needs for shoes, accessories, or seasonal items. We start each project with 3D design so you can visualize shelving configurations, drawer placements, and hanging zones before construction begins. From spacious walk-ins with islands and seating to compact reach-ins that make use of every inch, we build closets that work the way you need them to.

Walk-in closets. Center islands with drawers and velvet-lined jewelry inserts, built-in hampers, seating, full-length mirrors, tiered shoe display and LED lighting. In a walk-in with a window, we frame the cabinetry around it so you keep the daylight.

Reach-in closets. Double-hang rods, adjustable shelves, pull-out baskets, vertical cubbies and door-mounted organizers that use the full height and depth of the closet, not just the front.

Wardrobes and wall systems. Where there's no closet, or not enough of one, a wall-to-wall bedroom wardrobe with overhead cabinets, drawers and shoe storage keeps everything behind clean fronts.

Beyond the bedroom. Pantry shelving, linen closets, entryway and mudroom cubbies, and home office storage, built with the same care. If you're renovating a primary suite, we can design the closet together with your bathroom. For media walls, bookcases and bars, see our custom wall units.

Materials That Hold Up in South Florida Humidity

Humidity is hard on closets. Low-grade particleboard swells at the edges, shelves bow under stacks of folded jeans, and wire racks rust at the joints. We build with materials chosen for our climate:

  • Thermally fused melamine: a durable, moisture-resistant surface fused to the board, available in white, wood grains and solid colors.
  • High-pressure laminate: a harder-wearing surface for doors, drawer fronts and high-use areas.
  • Solid wood: for a furniture-quality finish on fronts and trim.
  • Soft-close drawer slides and hinges: so drawers close quietly and don't loosen with daily use.

From Design to Installation

We've refined our closet remodeling process over 20 years to eliminate surprises and keep your project running smoothly. You'll have a dedicated project manager as your single point of contact from the first consultation through the final walkthrough: no getting passed between departments, no chasing down answers.

Step 1: Consultation & Measurement

We meet at your home to understand what's not working with your current closet, whether it's wasted space, too little hanging room, a lack of drawers, or just general disorganization. We take precise measurements and discuss your storage needs, wardrobe size, and how you want the space to work every day.

While we measure, we also note the outlets, vents, windows and any attic access in the closet, so the design works around them.

Step 2: 3D Design & Material Selection

Our designers create detailed 3D renderings showing exactly how your new closet will look and function. You'll see shelving heights, drawer configurations, hanging rod placements, shoe storage, and accessory zones, and you can make adjustments until the layout is perfect. Visit our Fort Lauderdale showroom to select finishes, wood species, hardware, and lighting options in person.

Step 3: Proposal & Scheduling

You receive a detailed proposal with transparent, itemized pricing and a realistic timeline. Once approved, your project manager schedules the work and coordinates all logistics so you know exactly when we'll arrive and how long the installation will take.

Step 4: Removal & Build-Out

Our craftsmen remove your old wire shelving or outdated system, repair any drywall damage, and install your new custom closet with precision. We make sure every shelf is level, every drawer glides smoothly on soft-close slides, and every detail matches your approved design.

Step 5: Final Walkthrough

We walk through your completed closet together, demonstrating features and ensuring everything functions exactly as designed. We don't consider the job done until you're completely satisfied with every shelf, drawer, rod, and accessory.
